November 23, 2020. A fire broke out in the cockpit of a Boeing 747-400 British Airways (G-CIVD) which was being scrapped at Castellon airport.

The fire was extinguished by the airport’s fire brigade, and no injuries were reported.
This is the damage after a BAW 744 caught fire while it was in storage at Castellon Airport in Spain.

British Airways had made a major announcement as well as taken action during the lockdown to retire its entire Boeing 747 fleet. So far all have been flown out of Heathrow and major airports to storage facilities where their futures will be decided.
