What makes this story even more interesting is the fact that this happened after the Ukraine International Airlines B737 86N had already landed, and passengers were already disembarking.
After landing at Kiev from the Turkish resort city Antalya, officials said the woman walked almost all the way from the back of the aircraft to the emergency exit, opened the emergency exit and stepped out onto the wing.
By that time her two children were outside the plane.
The children who were with their father were surprised, saying, “that’s our mum!’”
Reports say she wanted to get some air after she got too hot.
Videos show the mother of two strolling along the wing before climbing back inside the cabin to re-join her family.
The pilot called for an ambulance, police and border guards.
The woman (who had by then clambered back safely into the aircraft’s interior),told cops she was too hot.
Ukraine International Airlines security officials who were called to the scene were fuming. Tests showed she was neither drunk, nor on drugs.
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) confirmed the bizarre incident, saying the passenger was now “blacklisted”.
The official statement was: “A passenger of flight PS6212 Antalya-Kyiv illegally opened the emergency exit of the plane after it stopped near gate 11 of terminal D and went on to its wing. The passenger was flying on a charter vacation with her husband and children.
The chief pilot immediately summoned the aviation security, border service, police and medical centre of Boryspil Airport.
The passenger was blacklisted for gross violation of aviation safety rules and behaviour on board.”
